All Eco-Trailer enclosed car trailers are supplied with a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) and are fully compliant with European Community Whole Vehicle Type Approval (ECWVTA). We also hold UK (GB) Type Approval, ensuring our trailers are legal for road use in both the UK and Europe.

Customers towing abroad should be aware that trailer registration is now required for both private and business use when travelling in Europe. This depends on your vehicle size, weight, towing capacity, and intended use. Our team is happy to advise to ensure the trailer is correctly matched to both your vehicle and towing vehicle.

Are Eco-Trailer trailers built to order?

Most trailers are built to order, though selected models and specifications may be available from stock.

How do I couple my trailer to the towing vehicle?

Lower the coupling onto the towball until fully engaged, confirm the indicator shows locked, attach the breakaway cable correctly, connect electrics, and check lights.

What should I use to secure the vehicle inside the trailer?

Use proper wheel straps or restraints designed for vehicle transport. Avoid chassis or suspension tie-downs unless specified.

Are your trailers suitable for frequent long-distance use?

Yes.

What is Type Approval, and can I use my trailer abroad?
