Are triangle reflectors required by law?
Yes, triangular red reflectors are required on all trailers in the UK. Regardless of age or size, they must have two red, triangular reflectors fitted to the rear as a standard feature. These reflectors, alongside other mandatory lighting, help other road users see the trailer, especially in low-light conditions.
Where on a trailer should they be fitted?
Red triangle reflectors must be fitted symmetrically at the rear of the trailer, ideally placed within 400mm of each side edge and positioned at a height between 250mm and 900mm from the ground.
